This is my first time working on edges. I think it will be quite easy because there are edges all around us. We have look at a few artist that take pictures of edges for example Dolores Marat, There images inspired me in my work and has made me think about what i want to do and what pictures i wanna take.
This was our first task we done on edges, this task was quite easy but hard because I didn't want the photos to look boring or plan and also the idea of dark and light (natural lighting). It was a difficult task because it was easy to make a mistake for it to just simply look like a basic photograph that went wrong. I like this task because you have to make sure every picture is different. you have to make sure every photograph has a different objects, building or shape as long as they all have edges. I tried to include colour in my pictures.
The other task was to pick 6 pictures out of all the pictures i took and which one i preferred, i preferred these six because some of them are abstract and they show edges really clearly, the edges are really sharp and some are colourful. Out of all of the six i like the end one the best because there is a building in the background but it is not focusing on the building it is focusing on the edge.
Dolores Marat
I chose this image as it is very different from all of the images. I chose this because the image has sheets hanging from the building and it looks like something has fallen from a height or a bomb explosion. This image makes me ask a lot of questions. The colours are dark and cloudy which makes the overall mood sad.
These are the photos i took last lesson, we had to take photos based on an artist. the artist that we chose was Dolores Marat, her work is mostly dark and they have shadows. i could not really get any dark pictures. Most of Dolores Marat work is based in the centre of the picture so that is what caches everyones eye and thats what they will be focusing on.
We had another task and it was to edit some of the photos we have already taken to make them smiler to Dolores Marat, we had to make them look dark and scary. I darkened most of them or i made them out of focus.
These are the photos i took for my homework. The task was to take photos in and around out home of edges. I found the task easy but i was trying to get the background blank so when anyone looks at the photo they focus on the edge not the background.
Planning/Ideas for my first final outcome
I printed of the photos i edited and i am going to make a 3D sculpture out of them photos. I want to make a sculpture because i want to try something different and challenge myself with a 3D sculpture.
These are another 5 photos i picked and am going to be putting on my sculpture, i edited them so they are similar to the other photos i have.
The artist who inspired me was, Wim delvoye even through his work is much bigger then what i planed it gave me inspiration to do a sculpture. His work is quite eye catching and seems really interesting.
These was the photos that I picked to use for my final piece, I thought these would be a good choice because they are all based on edges and it would of turned into a good photo book and I haven’t done a photo book for any of my final pieces so I thought it would be a good idea to do one with edges
